1907, Vienna. Princess Florelle entertains many suitors seeking her hand in marriage. One gentleman among them, Phoenix, is actually a jewel thief, after Florelle's precious gem named "The Smile of the Amazon". However, Florelle, annoyed by Phoenix's poor behavior, hides her gem - embedded in a ring - in a fish and tosses it out her window. It ends up swallowed by Mimi, the pet cat of the young waitresss girl Honey Honey. Florelle declares that whoever returns her the Smile of the Amazon will be her husband, so all of her suitors swarm about for the ring, including Phoenix. Thus Honey Honey and Mimi travel throughout the world, trying to avoid the clutches of Phoenix, Princess Florelle, and the suitors!
